It starts with a free call. From there I work through exactly what you need — your requirements, the must-haves, and the core functionality the whole thing depends on — involving you at every step so nothing is assumed. Depending on the size of what you need, this takes anywhere from 24 hours to around 3 weeks. Getting this right is what stops you paying for the wrong thing.
I break the requirements down into small, manageable, actionable tasks, then order them in the most effective way to tackle the work — sequencing things deliberately so we don't hit bottlenecks later on. You get that plan plus a fixed quote up front, and we agree it before any work starts: no open-ended bills, no surprises. If I think your idea is simpler or cheaper than you expected, I'll tell you.
This is where the tasks get done. I work through them and keep you in the loop with regular progress reports — and you get a dedicated test environment where you can see and try the work as it comes together, rather than just taking my word for it. I build the core that solves your problem first, then add the rest, so there's something real to look at early. It's built properly in a proper QA setup: reliable, secure, and tested, to the same standard I've used on systems for much larger companies.
By now the core is built. You review it and give the go-ahead — nothing reaches production without your approval. This is also where we fine-tune: any remaining tasks, revisions and iterations you want are actioned here, polishing the product until it's right. Then I handle the technical side of going to production — set up, tested and checked — so launch is calm rather than chaotic, and nothing falls over when real customers start using it.
By now the application is fully deployed, ready and working. I do a full handover, including all the documentation — technical docs, an overview of the work, and the supporting materials — so you (or any developer after me) understand exactly what you've got and you're never locked in. From there I can keep supporting and maintaining it: I work to a short response time, and we agree a clear SLA for the support and maintenance phase, so you know precisely what cover you have. Or you take it and run — entirely your choice.
