It can be when it's over-engineered or badly scoped — which is exactly what I avoid. I build the smallest useful thing first, ship it early, and grow it only where it pays off. You see working software and value quickly, not a big bill for a big unknown.
What kind of tech do you actually use?
Modern, well-supported tools chosen for reliability — usually .NET/C#, React, Next.js and Node.js, running on Azure, AWS or Vercel. I've used these to build insurance, eCommerce and banking systems for large organisations, so your small build rests on genuinely solid foundations. AI tooling sits inside that process to accelerate it, under review at every step — it speeds the work up, it doesn't decide the architecture. Happy to go deeper if you're technical, but you don't need to be.
What happens if I want changes later, or we stop working together?
You're not stranded. I document what I build and hand it over so it's genuinely yours. I'm happy to keep supporting it, but you're never locked in to me.
